The work includes; painterly marks that can be read as fabric on a classical figure and paint on a duster which sits perceptively behind the white blob as a line drawing, black rectangles that become censor's redactions and potatoes forming pictorial brackets to the floating, central image, that are styled in the methodical still-life manner of Euan Uglow. Bo Selecta. (Surely I can get into Private Eye with that! ) Bruce Mclean continues to challenge what is given priority.
