Bruce Mclean at Bernard Jacobson

Bruce Mclean the accomplished art jockey presents at Bernard Jacobson a collection of remixed House classics. The title of the painting shown here spells it out, 'Action Sculpture Potato Painting'. I would have put potato last.

The work includes; painterly marks that can be read as fabric on a classical figure and paint on a duster which sits perceptively behind the white blob as a line drawing, black rectangles that become censor's redactions and potatoes forming pictorial brackets to the floating, central image, that are styled in the methodical still-life manner of Euan Uglow. Bo Selecta. (Surely I can get into Private Eye with that! ) Bruce Mclean continues to challenge what is given priority.

Here is the Tate shots that was recorded before his last show at Bernard Jacobson, all power to his green fingers.

The exhibition opens today, 12th February and runs until 1st March.
